How to build trust in order to make a new client?

Trust is one of the most important factors in the success of any type of relationship. Trust means being honest with the other person in a relationship. Having trust also means proving others that you are reliable and responsible. Trust isn’t built in a day. It is something that slowly crafted and maintained over time. In terms of business ethics, the sole purpose of the trust is to promote business efficiency.

Take an example that you have to pitch a product to a known person. It will be very easy to handle that person’s doubts and confusion. Hence if you are able to build trust with your client then your half work is done. Therefore trust is an important factor in order to make a customer.

1. Share testimonials and work samples

  • If you show your past result to a new client then it will create a great impact on building trust.
  • If you are providing services then schedule a meeting with an old client to build trust with the newer one. If a meeting is not possible then you can schedule a call.
  • This will be very helpful in understanding your product to the new client.
  • You can also talk about your achievements and awards.

2. Clear communication

  • Information that you are providing to your client should be factually correct. Make sure that information should be in written form to create a great impact.
  • You should have an absolute answer to each question asked by your client. You should clear every doubt.
  • Make sure that communication should be both sided, allow your client to ask some doubts and give their opinions.
  • You should be consistent while giving details or your procedure. Do not give two alternative options just for the sake of enrolment.
  • Do not make false promise that you cannot fulfill to your clients.

3. Respect their time

  • It is very helpful in communication if you put yourself in their shoes. You should consider their viewpoints and feedback also.
  • Have a short but effective communication. Ask for time to schedule the next meeting.
  • Make sure that you don’t call them frequently and repeat the same information.
  • You should prepare yourself to provide something new to your client in the next meet.

4. Know your crowd

  • First of all, you should know your crowd. Otherwise, it is possible that you may fail in the future.
  • If your services are flexible i.e. clients can choose according to their requirement, then it will be a great advantage.
  • Try to deliver the unexpected. Your product should be different in some sense.
  • Make sure that you are having something for everyone.

5. Be transparent

  • Being direct and honest will instantly build trust in clients.
  • In case of mistake be ready to explain how it happened and what you are going to do to fix it.
  • The main reason that will lead to failure is non-transparency in your procedure.
