JEE Main 2019: Most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

JEE Main exam is going to be held next month. This time National Testing Agency is conducting the exam. From this year 2019 candidates can apply JEE Main twice a year. First attempt is going to be held in the month of January and second in the month of April. Internet is full of questions and doubts about the JEE Main 2019. Candidates should be clear about each and every step regarding the procedure of various stages in JEE Main. Here is the list of some of the FAQs and their appropriate answer.

What is eligibility for Diploma Students in JEE (Main) – 2019? Can
they take lateral entry in IITs?
The Diploma holders are not eligible to get admission in NITs and
CFTIs through JEE Main channels. They can take admission in IITs by appearing JEE Advanced. IITs do not have lateral entry so Diploma
holder has to take admission for four year program.
Is online calculator available or candidates are allowed to bring
calculator in examination hall?
No, online calculator is not available and students are not allowed to carry any kind of stuffs.
What is the eligibility for AAT? Is it only for B.Arch or any other
courses offered?
Those candidates who have qualify JEE Advanced will be able to
appear in AAT. So candidates who are seeking admission in B.Arch
courses at the IITs may check out the eligibility criteria of JEE
Advanced.
Is syllabus for JEE Advanced is same as JEE Main?
No, the syllabus is not same. Some extra topics are included in the

Some candidates does not have experience on computer and online examination, how to get familiar with this?
NTA is indentifying schools, colleges and other institution where
they can provide practise session to candidates.
Is exam is online or offline?
Paper-1 will be totally online but in paper-2, part one and part two 
will be online and part three will be offline.

Is the result required or rank card for JEE Main counselling?
During JEE Main counselling, the rank card will be required. The
candidates should take it at counselling centre for verification.
Is there a sports quota for NITs, IIITs and CFTIs through JEE Main?
No, There is no sports quota for NITs, IIITs and CFTIs through JEE 
Main.
When will JEE Main counselling start?
JEE Main counselling will start by the second week of June. First
candidates will have to registered themselves and fill their preferred 
choices.
Is there is separate passing marks for each subject in JEE Main or the overall marks are considered?
The overall marks are considered.
If candidates has any doubts about the official answer key, what is 
the procedure to challenge it?
First candidate have to login in JEE Main and fill the form to
challenge the answer key. The candidate have to pay 1000/- per 
question.
